Greetings
in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
We currently
live in New Mexico and we need your help. My wife and I went to Bible college to become
full time ministers straight out of High School in 1990. In 1992 we were ordained and sent into the field as assistant
Pastors. This is where our problems began and why we need your help. When we became Pastors, we were blessed with
excellent credit, but very poor financial judgment.
We started our family 3 years after we were married and the debt has been growing steadily ever since. The debt became
so bad that in 1998 we left full time ministry in order to get out of debt and better my education. I soon had a good
paying job and we were successful in paying off a considerable amount of our debt. I went back to college and received
my BS in management and along with it a $20,000+ school bill. We figured it would be several years before we would be
able to go back to full time ministry so we settled in, purchased a house, and continued to pay off our debt.
If you are a Christian, then you are aware that God's timing isn't necessarily yours and 1 year after buying a home, we were
called back into full time ministry. We sold our home, gave our cars back to the bank and moved to the Southwest.
We have not made any new debt since 1998 (Except for the Car we gave back to the bank) and have learned financial responsibility.
We pastor a small bi-lingual congregation here, but our income is fixed and very limited, we took a $40k a year pay cut going
back to full time ministry and are struggling.
To add to this struggle, we have been asked, both by our church, and by the Lord, to become missionaries. We cannot
answer this call until our total debt (over 50k) is paid off. This is a breakdown of this debt
Car we gave back to the bank - $10,000 (Now $7,000)
Old credit card debt - $20,000 (Now $8,000)
School Loans
- $20,000 (Now Under $20k)
We heard
that there have been some people, who had personal debt, who were helped by the millions of people that use the web.
So we ask now for your help. If you could give a small donation of even $.01 to help us get out of debt, it would bless
someone more than you could ever know.
This is NOT
a donation that would count for taxes, you are not purchasing anything, in fact the only thing you may ever get from this
gift is the knowledge that you have possibly helped spread the gospel to those who may not hear otherwise.
I thank you
for your prayerful consideration in the matter. We will keep this site updated as to the blessings received from it
and when we have raised enough to be free of our debt; we will simply make it a thank you page. (PS, we will be tithing
on this also)
*************UPDATE****************
Well, some
things have changed in our life, bringing us closer to our calling as missionaries.
Main thing. . .we have been moved to a small village in Alaska. This is a great thing, but makes it even more difficult financially. As you can see on the financial update’s above we’ve made some considerable
progress in credit card debt, but the school debt is very slow going. As of today
we have not received one donation, but some folks are looking at our site. Again,
any donation you could give to help us move forward would be great. If you cannot
give personally, please consider telling others who might. Thank you for your
time and prayerful consideration.
